President, Tatsuyoshi Kawamura, M.D., Ph.D.
Professor and Chair, Department of Dermatology, University of Yamanashi
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
It is our great pleasure and honor to host the 50th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society for Investigative Dermatology (JSID) on December 5-7, 2025. We are truly privileged to serve as the host for this landmark event, which marks half a century of scientific advancement in the field of investigative dermatology.
Over the past five decades, JSID has become a vital platform for researchers and clinicians to come together and share knowledge, challenge assumptions, and collectively push the boundaries of what is possible in dermatologic science. The 50th meeting is not only a celebration of our society's achievements, but also a moment of reflection and renewed commitment to the future of science.
The sub-theme of this meeting is "Learning from the Past". This theme conveys the importance of respecting the knowledge and experience accumulated by our great predecessors and using that knowledge to generate new knowledge for the next era. As we look back on our progress over the past 50 years, we reaffirm our determination to pave the way for the future of dermatology together.
Yamanashi Prefecture, located at the foot of Mt. Fuji, is known for its picturesque landscapes, including vineyards. Our university has the Institute of Enology and Viticulture, which produces its wine. Please enjoy a variety of wines produced in Yamanashi.
I sincerely hope that the 50th JSID meeting will be a forum for generating new ideas and discoveries that will contribute to the future development of dermatology.
